I would like to thank:

Kevin Temming:
For your amazing programming skills to make this site up and running. I envisioned a design and you managed to put it in working order and for that I'm really greatful. I know it's possibly something very small to you but it's a great deal to me.

Mattia Marchi:
For the use of your magnificent photos! Your photos give this site body and charisma!

Anja (my Princess), Bas, Bridget, Caro, Dylan, Eric, Frederik, Hendrik-Jan, Jeroen, Lesly, Livar, Mattias, Pascal, Patrick, Sarah, Tom, Wouter, Yves and to everyone I forgot who support me with care... that's what keeps me going for sure, really!

And of course all the artists out there who produce the music.

For those who like to find out a little bit more about me:

First of all you should know I'm terrible at writing, so spare me if this is a difficult read. I guess I'm terrible at writing because I'm not much of a talker. I'm more the observer and I like to watch things unfold so I can make my own opinions. This started early on when I was a kid. I've been a goalkeeper from the age of 6 and it's, you guessed it, it's the hindmost person on the field who overlooks the whole playing field. Somehow I think this, and of course the character I already possessed, made me into the person I am today. Namely, look over rather than being an active part of it.

I was a very precocious child and throughout the years I followed my own road and stumbled upon the kind of music the average teenager didn't.. such as Kraftwerk, Vangelis and Jean Michel Jarre etc. I always loved to introduce this "new" music to my friends and everyone who crossed my path. At parties and at friends house I was always the guy who mastered the radio and most of the time no one seem to really bother me controlling the sounds, rather it was well received (most of the time).

In my early 20s I discovered that mixing with a PC, as I lacked the setup to mix with vinyl, was something I really enjoyed doing.. I love to mix with various genres but I mostly wandered around in the Electronic corner and within this genre. I mosty like the so called style, IDM (Intelligent Dance Music). Which is without exaggeration is a very difficult style to mix as there are no guidelines of
how this specific style in music should sound. This is where the challange lies, namely mixing all kind of styles to make it sound like one fluent story. I try to avoid the 4/4 danceable music though but I have to secretly admit it's cool to do every now and then because it's less mindbreaking.

I see myself merely as an extension of the music from the respective artists. I'm well aware of the copyrights on the material I use and would like to point out that I never thought of this as a money making venture (It's just something I really love doing). It actually is the other way around in my opinion. By mixing the tunes I like I might help the artist to be more known.. ok, it might only be a handfull of extra fans but it's something.

PS: I don't use the "DJ" tag simply because I'm not in control of the disks and it doesn't really specify if one just play songs or if they are mixed together. If I really had to tag/catagorize myself I would like to use Mixmaster or Mixmeister.
In case you might wonder: Grim on Mbient is an anagram of my name.
